This week we are continuing with our themed boxes activities. The children have thoroughly enjoyed decorating them - they all look beautiful! Could you bring in some items for the boxes this week please as we need to have them completed and sent home by Friday as space is quite tight in our cupboard!
Show and Tell Items for the boxes. Please could you chat to your children about what they would like to put in their box and we will do the same when they bring in their items. We will also scribe for them their thoughts and descriptions and encourage if they wish to 'write' anything themselves. Maths Challenge Well done to the children for last week's challenge, they were pretty good at remembering the months of the year and what month their birthday was in! To link with our special boxes : Size Think carefully which items will fit in their box. Which items are too big/long/wide? Compare items: which is the shortest? Which toy is the tallest? Which picture/photo is narrower? Could you put things in order of size? This week, the children will be decorating shoe boxes (or size equivalent) to use as an activity to practice and reinforce their communication skills. Please could each child bring in a named box so we can start to transform them into their own themed box. Over the next two weeks, it would be lovely if you could chat to your child and talk about what they would like to put in their box (we'll do the same) and bring in the items so they are completed by Friday 27th November, before we start all our Christmas activities!
Show and Tell This will be chatting about and showing the items that they bring in from home for their box. Maths Challenge Thank you so much for embracing the challenge! Last week, the children were amazing at the days of the week. This week, the challenge is: Months of the year. What month is it? What month was before? What month will be next? What month is their birthday? This week, we will be making beautiful poppy paintings for Remembrance Day. We will try to encourage the children to make one to bring home and one to make a lovely display in pre-school.
