This week we will be continuing with our new Intros Music and Rugby sessions on Monday and Friday respectively. Throughout the week we will be creating more pieces of art, both inside and outside, using natrual materials. Our gallery is really coming on now!
We would like to thank all parents who have brought items in during our harvest week. Thanks to Emily for the apples trees from her garden and Oliver for his home grown pears! We would love some extra items for our musical area outside, so if you have any spare pots and pans or other noisy items for the children to make music on please do bring them into pre-school. Children at Cheapside were given a musical treat this morning when Revd Stephen Johnson paid us a visit during our weekly Intros music session. This week's instrument was the trumpet - very timely as this is an instrument played by Stephen himself. Stephen played some favourite songs for the children and then each child took it in turns to have a go too! The session finished with some stories about the musical notes and some colouring sheets to take home. A great start to the week for everyone!
Last week we had a very special visitor to South Ascot setting. Mrs Keenan brought along her dog, Millie. She was very popular! Thank you Mrs Keenan!
![]() This week at South Ascot Setting, we will be keeping a Weather Chart and our role play area will be a weather studio for budding weather forecasters! Please watch the weather report on T.V. with your child. Try out some weather songs at home too! e.g. It’s raining, it’s pouring, I can sing a rainbow. ![]() wc 7th October 2013 This week, we will be carrying on exploring music with Instrumentally and trying out different instruments. So far we've had a go at playing the violin and cello, we wonder what will be next?! ![]() The rugby on Friday was a great success. All the children took part with enthusiasm, running, stretching, carrying and rolling a ball, scoring tries, kicking over the post and finishing off with parachute games. Photographs of both the music and rugby can be found in the albums displayed on the piano, please feel free to take a look. For the next two weeks, we will be encouraging the children to create fabulous works of art for our Art Gallery and displays. They will be offered a myriad of art and craft mediums to use as well as natural materials from the garden, so it will be interesting to see what they can create! ![]() Do take a look at our display board at South Ascot pre-school. We have another busy week ahead with lots of exciting activities for the children. Please send any donations of home grown items for our soups, muffins and crumbles to add to our Pre-school crop of tomatoes, peppers, carrots and the lovely apples and pears we have been given.
