In keeping with our Harvest theme, the children at Cheapside setting had a fun start to the week today, making smoothies and working in our vegetable garden.
We are busy creating a numeracy and literacy area in the garden, as well as a music area in the gazebo. We would love parents to donate any items that make a fun musical sound - dustbin lids, old CDs, wooden spoons, pots and pans etc...

Cheapside Pre-school have today launched an exciting new music session designed for pre-school children.
Monday mornings will start this term with a hour long "Intros" music session run by an experienced Instrumentally teacher.
Intros is specially geared towards pre-school children and provides a structured approach to developing musical awareness, by introducing musical instruments in a fun-based environment. Children learn through the stories of the animals from carnival zoo.
"We are very excited to be working together," says South Ascot and Cheapside Pre-Schools founder, Sharon Shaw. We pride ourselves on offering an all round, high quality early learning experience for our little ones. We feel we can provide the children with an opportunity to gain valuable skills that can be carried forward on their learning journey."
Intros was developed and is written by Instrumentally founder Kate Chislett. " Pre-school children have an amazing capacity to learn and develop their musicality", says Kate. "Intros is a lot of fun and children get hands on experience of trying different musical instruments."
... and an especially warm welcome to our new starters. We have some very exciting plans for this term. More news to follow shortly. Newsletters will be issued to parents in the next week or so. In the meantime we hope your children will continue to "have fun, make friends and enjoy learning"....
We are looking forward to another fun-filled term with our French sessions on Friday afternoons.

We will be hearing the story in French and making the characters. As usual, we will be enjoying a French café every week, too.
The full session is from 12.30 pm – 3.00 pm, which includes French from 2pm – 3pm; it’s free play until then.
The cost is £20.00
