Summer fun and preparations for big school...

6/29/2015

We had a fabulous week last week engaging in our number, shape and counting activities both inside and out. We hope you noticed an extra enthusiasm from the children after all the fun?!

This week at pre-school, we will be turning the home corner into a school as we start to look towards some of our chums moving on to primary school.

As the weather is getting very hot this week, we thought we would play with ice and get our little paddling pool out. We won't be encouraging the children to dive in (!), but it will probably mean some may get very wet and messy. Please make sure that each child has a full set of clothing in their bag if they need to get changed.

Please remember to sun cream your little ones before they come to pre-school, that they have a hat in their bag and that their  bottle of sun cream hasn't run out!

W/B Monday 6th July - we are inviting all the children to come to pre-school in their favourite dressing up outfit (with spare clothes for outdoor play) in return for a bottle for the tombola for the annual pre-school summer BBQ on Sunday 19th July 11.00-3.00. The bottles can be anything you like, alcoholic or non, bubble bath, sauces, bubbles, anything you can come up with!

Exploring colours, shapes and numbers...

What an amazing week we've just had! The weather was incredible, the children behaved beautifully and the royal processions were amazing. We were also very happy to see so many members of the royal family (including Prince Harry!) and received comments on the fascinators and the cuteness of the children from Princess Michael of Kent and Zara Tindall!!. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a picnic and our walk to Watersplash, we hope you had fun.

This week, we will be exploring numbers, shapes and colours. We would like to encourage the children to wear clothes of differing colours or with numbers or shapes on them. We will be engaging in numerous activities, both inside and outside, as we hunt for these items hidden around the pre-school and garden.

Show and Tell Vv, Ww, Xx

Please can we have your pre-school trip money as soon as possible, in a named envelope. Unless we pay for the coach soon, we won't be able to go on our trip to the Forest School!

We hope you had a lovely Father's Day and liked your little bees!

Royal Ascot Week action!

CPS We have a very exciting week ahead of us at pre-school! We will be busy making our fascinators on Monday and the am sessions during the week, ready for our trips to see the royal procession. We will be having picnics Tues-Fri (children already at pre-school those days will have their packed lunches) from 11.45am.If you would like to join us, you would be very welcome. We are also happy if you would like to bring family or friends with you, as Royal Ascot week is always a highlight for us! If you can't join us for a picnic, why not pop along later as we don't usually leave for Watersplash Lane until about 1.20.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that we see a good variety of the members of the royal family. We haven't had the pleasure of seeing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge yet, but Prince Harry was certainly a winner (especially with the staff!!) a couple of years ago.

If you need any clarification on the details, just ask!

The mobile library is due to visit on Friday afternoon if they can fight their way through the traffic!

Remember the traffic will be especially bad for pick ups/drop offs at 11.30-12.30.

Preparations for Royal Ascot and Fathers Day....

6/8/2015

This week at pre-school, we will be undertaking two activities!
The first is to prepare ourselves for Royal Ascot and the second is for all those lovely daddies!

Mrs Clarke is coming in to make picnics with the children. They will be making their own sandwiches, icing cakes and making fruit kebabs.

We will be creating some lovely surprises for our daddies, we can't tell what just in case they read this (!) but we're sure they'll love them.

We are a little ahead of ourselves as Father's Day isn't until the 21st June, but we will be too busy next week making our hats for Ascot.

We hope you had a great half term.

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to our orienteering morning. We had a wonderful adventure around our beautiful village followed by homemade cakes back at the village hall. Thank you to everyone who made cakes, we raised lots of money towards our £1000 annual donation for our charity, the Nest children's home. Did you all see the lovely photo's and article in the Ascot News?

This week at pre-school, we will be having lots of fun during our sports week, making obstacle courses, having competitions and joining in silly games. The staff will have a go at a three legged race (should be interesting!!) and encourage the children to have a go too. There should be some good photographs to see next week!

Show and Tell Mm, Nn, Oo

Please can each child be sun creamed before they come into pre-school and have a named bottle of cream in their bags plus a sunhat. The weather is starting to get very hot and creaming 24 children at a time is very challenging!
