After a wonderful week  exploring mud for National Mud Week and dressing up in our favourite outfits and reading fairy tales and adventure books in conjunction with our Summer Fun Day, the week ahead will see us turn our attention to the World Cup.

Although we aren't going to mention England's untimely departure (!) we will still be having fun engaging in physical activities to help with the development of our gross motor skills, alongside craft activities related to the countries involved in the football extravaganza!

Summer Fun Day
Thank you to everyone who came along to enjoy our lovely get together, we hope you had fun!
A big thank you must go to all the helpers and volunteers, but especially to our FOPS team who were amazing as usual!

Dressing up & story telling week at Cheapside

6/23/2014

What a fabulous week we had last week, with all our Royal Ascot excitement! The children thoroughly enjoyed creating their individual hats and fascinators and making the long journey to Watersplash Lane to see the Queen and the royal family. The highlight for us all must be when Prince Harry spotted the children from his carriage on Tuesday and said "oh look, they're so sweet" before smiling and waving at the children. A couple of the staff also became a little flustered!!

This week will be dressing up and story telling week. The children are all invited to come to pre-school wearing their favourite dressing up clothes (please make sure they have other clothing for playing outside in) The price to pay is a bottle (of anything) for our tombola for the Summer Fun Day on Sunday. Your children may dress up every day, but we ask you only to donate one bottle for the week, but any more donations will be gratefully accepted.

We would also like the children to bring in any favourite books to share with us, related to their dressing up. We will be having lots of stories inside and out in the garden.

Outdoor fun and healthy eating at Cheapside..

Last week was a really fun week at pre-school, with the majority of our activities being undertaken in the garden.

Music on Monday saw the children searching for musical notes hidden around the bushes and plants, whilst on Friday, we all thoroughly enjoyed playing rugby outside, which included an obstacle course and penalty kicks!

Wednesday and Thursday were also very busy days, as we planted our Summer flowers, erected a new greenhouse for the tomato plants that Grandma and Grandad bought us and saw how big the runner bean and sunflower plants had grown. If you get a chance to pop in, come and see the fruits of our labours!

This week, we will be making picnic's with Mrs Clarke whilst talking about healthy eating, as well as making our Father's Day surprises. Phew, another tiring week ahead!
