This week at Cheapside, we will be making some lovely Easter treats with Mrs Clarke as well as having some Easter egg hunts in the garden. Show and TellDd, Ee, Ff Don't forget, there are a couple of important dates to remember this week! Wednesday 26th - Parents evening Thursday 27th - closed for elections (no pre-school) Friday 28th - break up for the holidays May we take this opportunity to wish you all a great Easter and see you on the 22nd April.

![]() Thank you to everyone who was able to attend their child’s Keyworker appointment. It was great to see so many of you. Please add any achievements and /or comments to their Learning Journey before returning it to Pre-school. During this week we will be busy with Easter craft and a bit of Easter cooking. The children will be taking part in Easter Egg Hunts around the Pre-school gardens. Our special Mother’s Day surprises will be coming home for Sunday! Do look after them and water them! (Maybe pop a little hole in the bottom to help with drainage!) Our sounds and letters for show & tell are Jj Kk Ll Our parent /carer play day is Thursday at Instrumentally Music! ( only if your child would be happy for you to join us!) We break up for our extended Easter holidays THIS Friday 28th March and return on TUESDAY 22nd April. WE WISH ALL OUR FAMILIES A VERY HAPPY EASTER! This week, we will be starting to create our 'Mothers Day' surprises. We can't say any more or we might give the game away, you'll just have to wait to find out!! Thank you to everyone who brought in books last week to celebrate World Book Day. We had a lovely time sharing them together both inside preschool and out in the garden. We would just like to say well done to all the children for the way they behaved during the fire drill practices. They were extremely good and were very sensible although a little disappointed that there wouldn't be any real fire engines turning up!! Show and Tell Aa, Bb, Cc The children each recited a favourite rhyme for our Preschool Big Little Rhyme Along Book as part of our World Book Day activities. Do take a look at our lovely rhymes and illustrations.
Parent/keyworker appointments this week- please arrive promptly for your 10 minute chat! We will be celebrating St Patrick’s Day and all things Irish by making Shamrocks for good luck! We will begin our Easter craft and explore the changing seasons. Things beginning with Gg Hh Ii. Parent/carer play rota is WEDNESDAY 19th March. Do stay to play with your child if you can. Great fun was had by all last week, as we made and consumed, a myriad of pancakes!
This week, to celebrate World Book Day on the 6th March, we would like to ask all the children to bring in their favourite books to share; be they fairy tales, bed time stories, factual or informative or even their favourite magazines. As long as we can look at them together, we don't mind what they are! It's really important that every child is read to every day and if we can be a part of that, it's great. All the children will be bringing home a book voucher to put towards a new book, so we hope you all enjoy discovering a new favourite. We have also been asked by some of the children, if we can make "a real, erupting volcano" Good old Miss Kirk has volunteered to lead the project, so watch this space for the exciting news of its progress! Every session this week, we will be practising the fire drill, so please re-assure your children that it's only pretend. Show and Tell Yy, Zz We had fun at South Ascot last week bringing our fairytales to life through puppets.
There were lots of princesses, knights and princes in our role play castle aswell as the odd witch! Do come in to see your child’s life sized character in the castle!(we will be finishing them all this week). We even have a mermaid in the moat! This week we will be making our very own Big Little Rhyme Along Book with the childrens’ favourite rhymes. Stay and play is Tuesday this week. Our sounds and letters for show and tell are Dd Ee Ff.” ![]() This week at Cheapside, our lovely volunteer baker, Mrs Sarah Clarke, is coming in to make pancakes with the children. There'll be lots of stirring and mixing, flipping and tossing and probably lots of scraping and cleaning!! We'll be trying our best to throw and catch the pancakes, before sitting down to have a taste of them fresh from the kitchen. Have the children told you about their new job of preparing the fruit and vegetables for snack time? Please could you forewarn the children that we will be practising the fire drill the week beginning 10th March. It will be on every session and is a very important routine for them to know. Please re-assure them that it is only pretend and not scary, as some of the little ones can get a bit wobbly. Thank you. We will be exploring Fairy Tales and using our role play castle and dressing up resources to bring them to life, as well as using puppets. We will be taking part in a BIG LITTLE RHYME ALONG and collecting favourite rhymes for a special South Ascot rhyme book to go in our Pre-school library. We will be making pancakes to remember Shrove Tuesday. Story: The Biggest Pancake. The children are invited to dress up and/or bring in your favourite fairy tale during these 2 weeks.
